What is a Certificate of Conformity (CoC)?

A Certificate of Conformity (CoC) is a document certifying that a vehicle meets the technical, safety, and environmental standards required in the destination country or region. In the EU, a CoC issued by the manufacturer is required for vehicle registration — it confirms the vehicle meets EU type approval standards. For Chinese vehicles imported to Europe, the manufacturer (e.g. BYD, MG, NIO) must issue an EU CoC for the specific model. For non-EU countries, equivalent certificates may be required (e.g., SASO Certificate for Saudi Arabia, SABS for South Africa). DriveSino offers EU homologation support for an additional fee, including technical documentation and assistance obtaining the CoC for models without existing EU type approval.
